Environment

ASolid is an IC design company and does not have a manufacturing factory.
Our internal environmental sustainability focuses on three aspects: greenhouse gas inventory, water resources and waste management. We will also strengthen publicity on energy conservation and carbon reduction, promote various energy-saving measures to reduce the impact on the environment for the earth.

Greenhouse Gas Management

GHG emissions:

Year 2022 2023 2024
Unit tonCO2e % tonCO2e % tonCO2e %
Scope 1 45.0215 9% 47.2315 8% 47.2315 8%
Scope 2 475.6534 91% 519.5181 92% 566.7316 92%
Total Emissions (Scope 1 & 2) 520.6749 100% 566.7496 100% 613.9631 100%
Emission Intensity (Scope 1+2) (ton CO₂e per Million NTD Revenue) 0.27 0.34 0.49
Increase Compared to Previous Year 24% 45%

Note 1: The scope of GHG emissions covers the Company’s Hsinchu and Taipei offices.
Note 2: GHG emission factors are referenced from the Environmental Protection Administration’s “GHG Emission Factor Management Table,” Version 6.0.4.
Note 3: Scope 2 purchased electricity emissions are calculated based on the Ministry of Environment’s “Enterprise GHG Emission Estimation Platform.”
Note 4: Emission Intensity = (Scope 1 + Scope 2 GHG emissions in CO₂e) ÷ Annual Revenue.

Compared to 2023, total emissions increased in 2024, largely due to higher electricity consumption driven by new product R&D, which resulted in an overall increase in Scope 2 emissions. Looking ahead, ASolid Technology will continue to conduct routine GHG inventories to track progress and review the achievement of its short-, medium-, and long-term carbon reduction targets.

Reduction targets, promotion measures and achievement status:

Reduction Targets

We used 2023 as the base year and the number of employees as the standard. Within 2 years, it will reduce the electricity consumption per unit of employees by 1%, promote energy conservation and carbon reduction measures, and gradually reduce energy waste.

Promotion Measures

  1. Continuously replace old fluorescent lamps and replace them with energy-saving LED lamps.
  2. Turn off air conditioning and lighting when no one is using conference rooms and laboratories to save energy.
  3. Electronic sign-off systems, such as employee leave systems, travel applications for paperless.
  4. Announcements to promote energy conservation and carbon reduction.
  5. Invest in a temperature control system to save energy.
  6. When replacing or purchasing new equipment, we will have priority on energy-saving design products.

Achievement Status

Item1.2.3.4 are all being implemented. Item 5.6 are expected to be implemented in 2025.
(The Zhubei office purchased a temperature control system and air conditioning VRV system.)
In the future, the achievement of reduction targets will be tracked through routine greenhouse gas inventories and reviews.

Water Resources Management

Water consumption:

Water Source Type Withdrawal Destination / Year 2022 2023 2024
Water Withdrawal From municipal water companies, public supply, or wastewater treatment plants (Unit: million liters) 4.8943 4.7269 4.6192
Water Intensity (million liters per million NTD revenue) 0.0025 0.0028 0.0037

Note 1: Scope of coverage: parent company, including the Hsinchu office.
Note 2: Both the Hsinchu and Taipei offices obtain water from third-party municipal water companies. As water fees are included in the building management fees, actual water consumption data for the Taipei office is not available. Given its immateriality, water consumption is estimated based on the Hsinchu office’s data using the following formula: Total building water consumption × (ASolid’s occupied area ÷ Total building area).

Reduction targets, promotion measures and achievement status:

Reduction Targets

We used 2023 as the base year and the number of employees as the standard. Within 2 years, it will reduce the water consumption per unit of employees by 1%

Promotion Measures

  1. Promote employees from time to time on the concept of water conservation and the practical actions of closing down water.
  2. If water supply equipment is found to be damaged or leaking, repair it immediately to avoid wasting water.
  3. Evaluate the installation of water savers.
  4. When replacing old equipment, priority will be given to those with the “Water Saving Label”.

Achievement Status

Item1.2. are all being implemented. Item 3.4 are expected to be implemented in 2025.
In the future, we will continue to understand changes in water consumption trends and track the achievement of reduction targets.

Waste Management

Waste weight:

Year 2022 2023 2024
General Industrial Waste (tons) 90.35 96.69 100.50
Hazardous Industrial Waste (tons) 0 0 0
Total Waste (tons) 90.35 96.69 100.50
Annual Growth Rate (%) 7% 4%
Waste Intensity (tons per Million NTD Revenue) 0.05 0.06 0.08

Note 1: Scope of coverage: the parent company, including the Hsinchu and Taipei offices. As general waste from the Hsinchu and Taipei offices is uniformly handled by the building management committee with no actual data available, the total amount of general industrial waste has been estimated based on the Ministry of Environment’s published per capita daily general waste generation multiplied by ASolid Technology’s average number of employees.
Note 2: Per capita daily general waste generation published by the Ministry of Environment: the averages for 2022, 2023, and 2024 were 1.32 kg/day, 1.359 kg/day, and 1.38 kg/day, respectively.
Note 3: In the past two years, only general industrial waste was generated, with no hazardous industrial waste reported or disposed of.

Reduction targets, promotion measures and achievement status:

Reduction Targets

We used 2023 as the base year and aim to reduce the waste intensity by 1% within 2 years.

Promotion Measures

  1. Srict to implement the classification and recycling of garbage and food waste in order to reuse resources.
  2. Promote paperless and recycle paper for reuse.
  3. Promote waste reduction and garbage reduction.

Achievement Status

Item1.2. 3 are all being implemented.
In the future, we will continue to pay attention to changes in emission trends and evaluate emission calculation methods to reduce the external impact of our own operations.

Conflict Minerals Policy

ASolid is committed to avoiding the use of conflict minerals originating from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and adjoining countries. We recognize that these minerals are often associated with armed conflict, human rights abuses, and environmental degradation, and we strive to uphold human rights, health, and environmental protection throughout our supply chain as part of our commitment to corporate social responsibility.

Our Commitment:

Supply Chain Due Diligence

We require all suppliers to conduct thorough due diligence on their supply chains to identify the origins of 3TG (tin, tungsten, tantalum, gold), cobalt, and mica. This includes submitting the Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT) and the Extended Minerals Reporting Template (EMRT) to trace the minerals to their smelters and ensure they do not originate from conflict-affected areas in the DRC and adjoining countries.

Responsible Sourcing

We actively promote responsible mineral sourcing by prioritizing suppliers who source materials from smelters and refiners certified by the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI). We also require our suppliers to communicate and enforce our Conflict Minerals Policy throughout their upstream supply chains to ensure compliance at all levels.

Transparency and Compliance

We are committed to collaborating with our suppliers to maintain transparency in supply chain information. We comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

Continuous Improvement

We are dedicated to continuous improvement in responsible supply chain management. We regularly evaluate and improve our internal processes to ensure the effective implementation of our Conflict Minerals Policy. We also actively participate in relevant industry initiatives and commit to regularly reviewing and updating this policy.
